Gobhi Manchurian

Gobhi Manchurian is an easy-to-make side dish recipe. Best served with fried rice or noodles.

Ingredients to make Gobhi Manchurian:

1 cup refined oil

1 teaspoon ginger

1 cup sliced onion

2 tablespoon tomato ketchup

1/2 teaspoon spice chili powder

1/2 teaspoon lemon juice

1/4 cup cubed onion

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon grated garlic

3 handful green chilli

1 1/2 tablespoon soy sauce

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon sugar

2 tablespoon corn flour

1/4 cup cubed capsicum (green pepper)

3 tablespoon water

For Marination

1 cup cauliflower
1 tablespoon rice flour
2 teaspoon soy sauce
4 tablespoon all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
For Dressing
2 cup corn flour
  • Wash and clean the cauliflower & chop to small florets.In a mixing bowl, add maida flour, corn flour, rice flour, pepper pwd, salt and soya sauce. Mix well.

    Add enough water and stir to smooth thick paste.

    Add cauliflower florets and coat with the paste. Let it marinate for 15 to 20 mins.

    Heat oil in frying pan.

    Add the marinated cauliflower and deep fry in hot oil.

    Deep fry until it is crisp and golden.

    In a frying pan, heat a tbsp of oil. Add grated garlic, ginger and saute.

    Add sliced green chilly and onion. Add soya sauce, tomato ketchup and saute.

    Add salt, (add little salt as soya sauce has salt in it), pepper powder, red chilly powder and sugar. Stir well.

    Add 1/2 cup of water and combine. Add lemon juice or vinegar and mix.

    Make a paste out of 2 tbsp of corn flour and 1/2 cup of water. Add this paste to gravy and combine.

    Let it cook in medium flame.

    Once the gravy attains the desired consistency, add the crispy fried cauliflower.

    Toss in high flame. Add cubed onions and capsicum.

    Saute and turn off the flame.

    Serve hot with fried rice, noodles or naan.
