Spaghetti Puttanesca

Spaghetti Puttanesca is an Italian dish made with spaghetti pasta. You can also serve this recipe for Iftar.

Ingredients to make Spaghetti Puttanesca:

6 pitted black olives

3 cloves finely chopped garlic

1/2 teaspoon chilli flakes

2 sprigs chopped parsley

450 gm finely chopped tomato

3 pinches salt

225 gm pasta spaghetti

6 pitted green olives

1 handful soaked capers

1 handful basil

2 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil

10 chopped anchovy fish

2 pinches black pepper

4 shavings parmesan cheese

  • Method:

    Cook the spaghetti in salted boiling water for 7 to 8 mins till al dente.

    Meanwhile take a pan and put it on a medium gas range and saute garlic, anchovies, chili flakes, olives, caper in olive oil.

    Add the chopped tomatoes to the above mixture and cook for at least 10 mins.

    Once you get the tomato sauce consistency remove from the heat put the drained spaghetti to the sauce and add basil and seasoning to it.

    Garnish with parmesan shavings, chopped parsley and extra virgin olive oil. Serve hot.
